1. Blandford Solar Project

Energy Generation:

3,800 KW

Project Location:

Tolland, Massachusetts

Project Information:

The Tolland Solar Project is a 4.0 MW (DC) utility-scale solar PV generation facility located in Tolland, Massachusetts on a 65-acre lease of land. The generation facility interconnects to Western Massachusetts Electric Company, providing enough electricity to power more than 1,500 homes.

Scope of Project:

The Tolland Solar Project¡¯s 3,800 kW capacity not only contributes to reducing energy costs for Western Massachusetts Electric Company and residents of Massachusetts but also supports both the utility and the Commonwealth in achieving their sustainability objectives.

  • Equivalent to the CO2 emissions from burning 3,094,119 pounds of coal.

  • Equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions from a passenger vehicle driving 6,931,433 miles.

  • Equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 3,331 acres of US forests in one year.

2. East Acres Solar Project

Energy Generation:

4,397 KWh

Project Location:

Pittsfield,MA

Project Information:

East Acres solar project is located in Pittsfield, MA. East Acres is a 4.4MW (DC) photovoltaic solar generation system. The facility is located on 77 acres of retired campgrounds previously operated by the Young Men¡¯s Christian Association, adaptively reusing this land to generate clean electricity. The generation facility interconnects to Western Massachusetts Electric Company through a gang operated three phase utility line distribution.

Scope of Project:

In addition to the Massachusetts solar incentive of approximately $285/SREC, this project generates both revenue and clean power. The East Acres Solar Project¡¯s 4,397 kW capacity not only helps reduce energy costs for Western Massachusetts Electric Company and residents of Massachusetts, but also contributes to the utility¡¯s and the Commonwealth¡¯s sustainability goals. The 4,397 kW of solar power is equivalent to:

  • A 20-year power sale refers to a long-term agreement to sell electricity for two decades.

  • This system offers a 30% ITC and allows accelerated depreciation, deducting 20% annually for five years.

  • Equivalent to the CO2 emissions from burning 3,580,221 pounds of coal.

  • Equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions from a passenger vehicle driven 8,020,397 miles.

  • Equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 3,854 acres of US forests in one year.

3. Austin Rooftop Solar

Energy Generation:

2,000 KW

Project Location:

Chicago,IL

Project Information:

The Austin Rooftop Solar project is a rooftop solar installation in Chicago, Illinois. The Austin Rooftop solar project is also one of the largest rooftop-mounted solar systems in the Midwest back in 2012. It is producing approximately 2,500 MWh¡¯s of electricity annually, enough power to drive over 3,500 miles in a passenger car.

Scope of Project:

The Austin Rooftop project¡¯s 2,000 KW capacity not only reduces energy costs for the building owner, but it also helps Chicago and the State of Illinois meet their sustainability goals. 2,000 KW of solar power is the equivalent of:

  • Equals the CO2 emissions from burning 1,628,000 pounds of coal for energy.

  • Equals greenhouse gas emissions from a passenger vehicle driven 3,648,000 miles total.

  • Prospects are more likely to buy with ready Web Contact forms.

4.Church Hill Solar Project

Energy Generation:

7.36 MW

Project Location:

Church Hill,MD

Project Information:

Church Hill Solar Farm, LLC (CHSF) is a 7.36 MW (DC) utility-scale solar PV generation facility located on the eastern shore of Maryland. The site is ideally situated in a flat open field that surrounds the price substation of Delmarva Power and Light (DPL). The system generates approximately 9,100 MWh a year, enough power to provide electricity to 770 homes. CHSF has received its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) from the state of Maryland and has secured a ground lease for a 25-year term with two five-year options (35-year lease in total), providing clean electric power to Maryland¡¯s residents for a generation.

Scope of Project:

The Church Hill solar project¡¯s 7,360 KW capacity not only reduces energy costs for both DPL and southern Maryland¡¯s residents, but it also helps both DPL and the State of Maryland meet their sustainability goals. 7,360 KW of solar power is the equivalent of:

  • The CO2 emissions equal 7,034,990 pounds of coal burned, harming our environment.

  • Equals emissions from vehicle driven 13,425,091 miles¡ªmajor climate impact.

  • Prospects buy more often when you're ready to sell Web Contact Forms.

5.Blandford Solar Project

Energy Generation:

80,000 kWh / Year

Project Location:

Blandford, MA

Project Information:

The Blandford Solar Project is a 7.4 MW (DC) utility-scale solar PV generation facility located in Blandford, Massachusetts. The generation facility interconnects to Western Massachusetts Electric Company, providing enough electricity to power more than 3,000 homes.

Scope of Project:

The Blandford project is the largest MA SMART solar project Western Massachusetts Electric Company¡¯s territory and was one of the first to receive a SMART Program 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA). The SMART Program is a long-term sustainable solar incentive program sponsored by Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil. SMART will encourage the development of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology by supporting 1,600 MW of new solar generating capacity. The economic benefits of this project include:

  •  A 20-year PPA ensures stable, long-term revenue certainty for energy providers.

  • The 1.6 GW solar program is expected to meet 10% of Massachusetts' electric demand, saving ratepayers $4.7 billion.

  • Producing sustainable energy for low to moderate-income communities in Western MA fosters equitable growth.

6.  Spencer Solar Project

Project Information:

The Spencer Solar is a 3.4 MW utility-scale solar PV generation facility located in Spencer, Massachusetts. The generation facility interconnects to Massachusetts Electric Company, providing enough electricity to power more than 1,500 homes. In developing the Spencer project, Sunpin Solar worked with community leaders to receive approval from both zoning and environmental boards, leading the way towards sustainability with a project that local residents could get behind.

Scope of Project:

The Spencer project has received a SMART Program 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA). The SMART Program is a long-term sustainable solar incentive program sponsored by Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil. SMART will encourage the development of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology by supporting 1,600 MW of new solar generating capacity. The economic benefits of this project include:

  • A 20-year PPA ensures long-term revenue certainty, stabilizing financial returns over time.

  • The 1.6 GW solar program will meet 10% of Massachusetts' electric demand, saving ratepayers $4.7 billion.

  • Participation in a program incentivizes both clean energy storage and generation, promoting sustainable energy solutions.
